Rodial Glamtox cleaning balm - Review

Ok. Can we just. Seriously. This stuff is a God send.

I bought this product on a whim the other day as I was looking for a new cleanser and fancied trying out a balm. It has a suuuuuuper hefty price tag, but I have heard so many good things about Rodial as a brand, I thought I would give it a go! And oooh my goodness I'm so glad I did.

So the idea of this product is to pump the balm into dry hands and apply to a dry made up face to gently melt away and remove makeup, while cleansing the skin. To remove the product it advises you to use a warm damp muslin cloth. The product contains almond, jojoba and wheatgerm oils which nourish and smooth the skin, while a blend of vitamins help with pigmentation and leave you with a brighter complextion. I am not lying when I say that it removes every little tiny bit of makeup on the face and leaves your skin feeling unbelievably smooth and fresh.

Not only did it make my skin feel amazing but by the first use, my skin looked sooo much better. I have extremely acne prone skin and this product instantly reduced the appearance of my acne scars, and helps to fight against spots. I thought I would never find a product that would help my scarring as much as this has. I literally cannot sing this product enough praise. I recommend it 1 billion times over and will definitely be repurchasing it myself.

Talking of purchasing, this products retails at £50.00. HOWEVER, Rodial have reduced the price to £28 on the website and I'm not sure how long that's going to be the case for. So I would absolutely recommend going to the site and getting it while it's at such a discounted price!!!! It's so worth it.

Thanks for reading guys, hope this has been interesting!

Sexy skin for summer

THAT'S RIGHT.
It's that time of the year again where the weather is getting warmer and so naturally, as a makeup artist, I have been thinking of ways to switch up my everyday makeup with things more suitable for summer weather.
One of my absolute favourite trends for summer is radiant, dewy skin. I found some pictures on Tumblr and posted this collage to Instagram of some ideal ways to sport a super glowy look...

!!!!!! How gorgeous?!

There are two main ways to achieve a gorgeous glowy look: applying a radiant primer before applying foundation, or using a highlighter once foundation has been applied. There are ENDLESS amounts of amazing products that you could use to do so, but here are a few of my favourites.

This is suuuuch a good primer, not only in terms of brightening up the face, but also for keeping foundation on and looking great all day. It's got quite a tacky finish, very unlike the extremely silicone based primers that I'm used to, so it was quite strange the first time I tried it. However, the finish of the primer really ensures that the foundation adheres and stays beautifully in place all day. I have super oily skin and foundation tends to slip and slide all over the place, so that's how I know when I've found a primer worth my time and money. I was so impressed with the radiance that it gave my skin, it is very natural looking, not over the top and shimmery at all. Plus it smells really good! Like vanilla. For £22.50 (full size) it isn't as cheap as chips, but I HIGHLY recommend splashing some cash on this primer.

This stuff is such an essential for me, especially in the summer when I want to achieve that really intense glowy look. This product is marketed as a moisturiser with SPF20+ so you can use it as a base if you wish, however I wouldn't recommend doing that if you have combination to oily skin as it doesn't do much as a primer. The way I like to use this product is, once the face makeup has been applied, to tap it onto the high points of my face to highlight. The light diffusing particles add such a beautiful shimmer to the face without being too chunky and artificial looking. The product comes in 4 different shades: Pearl, Moonstone, Opal and Topaz. I use the shade Pearl as I think it suits my skin tone the best for a more natural effect. £33.00 for  moisturiser seems a lot, however the effects that it gives to the skin, I mean, It's so luxe I couldn't not recommend it to you.

This is a really versitile and useful product. You can use this in many ways to create an intense radiant effect. It can be used before foundation or after foundation, but I like to use it afterwards. I apply it in much the same way as I do the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, however this product is much more creamy and dense, meaning a more intense product payoff. I use the colour Luna on myself but the other 4 colours are just as beautiful. This product is £15.00, which I think is really reasonable considering you get 3.2g worth of cream product, and you literally need the tiniest amount whenever you use it. This is also a fab product for using as a brow bone and cupids bow highlight.

This illuminating moisturiser is so good for making dull skin look amazing. It has so many great botanical ingredients in the product which are said to brighten, freshen, moisten, and boost the appearance of tired and dull looking skin. So as well as being a great luminising base for makeup, it's actually a great one for the skin. The finish of this product is super moisturising, but it does sink in nicely, meaning it's fine to use if you have oily skin like me. I really recommend this product, and for £23.50 for 50ml, I mean, where can you go wrong?

So those were a few of my favourite products for achieving that gorgeous glow for the summer time. I hope that this has helped you to maybe try out something new, or given you an insight into what sort of products there are on the market.
Thanks for reading guys!!
